If you’re going to do that, then do not miss a visit to the exhibition ” Il Vello d’Oro: antichi tesori della Georgia” (“The Golden Fleece: Treasures of Ancient Georgia”), in the Museum of Fori Imperiali in the Mercati di Traiano.

Georgia, a mythical land of gold, since the IV millennium BC, the extreme periphery of

the Hellenistic world, a crossroads of important cultures,  but also rich in gold, where he guarded the fleece.

The exhibition inspired by the ancient myth of the Argonauts and the Caucasian countries as a cultural bridge between Europe and Asia, consists of 185 precious pieces, all from the Georgian National Museum.

Are exposed rare artifacts in gold filigree of the third and II millennium BC, and bronze artifacts, which testify  the excellence of the workmanship of the metal.
