Between the Pantheon and the Quirinale Palace, the Basilica of St. Ignazio deserves an exact view!
The exterior is beautiful and structured on two levels, the interior is a surprise, among the various frescoes, the organ reconstructed more times, the beautiful apsis and a fresco, which simulates a false dome!
The chapel dedicated to the noble Roman family of Ludovisi (who gave a number of cardinals and the Popes to Roman Catholic Church) with the tomb of Gregory XV (a Ludovisi… ) is truly spectacular!
Also, just this Tuesday, November 29, you can attend the poignant Concert of Sacred Music Choir of St. Stephen Catholic Church, to be held within the Basilica. Admission is free.
……. and then coming out, you will be in the heart of the Renaissance and Baroque Rome, beautiful!
