ROME
In the center of Rome, in Rione Trevi, near the Quirinale, Via del Tritone and Piazza Barberini, I point out this gem: The Oratory of SS. Crucifix.
An Oratorio frescoed by major mannerist painters working in Rome at the end of the sixteenth century: Giovanni de Vecchi, Pomarancio and Cesare Nebbia. (XVI-XVII centuries)
The oratory was built to celebrate the miracle that, in 1519, saved from a terrible fire that destroyed the nearby Church of San Marcello, the wooden crucifix of 1400.
Today it houses the Roman Oratory Music.
