The wisdom of the ancients: Thermae Diocletian.

One of the most beautiful tours in Rome:
the Baths of  Diocletian (Thermae Diocletian),  third century AD, almost 13 hectares.

English: Baths of Diocletian, Rome. Français :...

The thermal building, the largest in the ancient world, included calidariumtepidarium and frigidarium (capable of hosting 3000 people at once).

These very spacious rooms were transformed by Michelangelo for the construction of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Christian martyrs.

The other areas, natatio or frigidarium for swimmers (pool of over 3500 meters in open air) and several other rooms were, lounges, occupied by libraries, nymphs, locker rooms for musical auditions for physical exercises.

Too bad that they are accessible only in part, for complex restoration work in progress… but it’s worth it!

National Museum of Rome – Terme di Diocleziano

“The Renaissance in Rome: Michelangelo and Raffaello.”

Near Palazzo Sciarra, one of the four wonders of Rome, in the heart of Rome, overlooking Via del Corso, I recommend you to visit the Galleria Sciarra, a pedestrian gallery, richly decorated in Art Nouveau style.

A stone’s throw from the Trevi Fountain, at the Palazzo Sciarra, you can then spend your afternoon visiting the exhibition: The Renaissance in Rome. A token to Michelangelo and Raffaello.”

An exhibition that displays about 180 works, by one of the most fruitful for Art: The Renaissance.
Rome was the absolute center of artistic production and were also decorated masterpieces such as Castel Sant’Angelo and Trinità dei Monti

One must stop, if you want to learn more about the history of Italian art!
