The Epiphany and the Tiramisù

Are you still sleeping off the New Year’s Eve?
Yet, here in Italy, we are already preparing for the feast of the Epiphany which usually closes the Christmas holidays.

The word “Epiphany” comes from the greek “Epiphany” means “appearance, an event”.
Occurred on the night between 5 and 6 January that the Magi visited Jesus to offer him gold, incense and myrrh.
Many are the legends that link the figure of this old woman with Epiphany ….
Some, of peasant origin, where tradition says the death and rebirth of nature, where the witch, that is the old year, was symbolically burned as a puppet, to appease the new crop.

This Feast, devoted primarily to children, is an auspicious festival, very old!

And if children, the witch will bring sweets, toys or charcoal (for the most mischievous )…. what we can expect?

Well, if the Epiphany does not get us anything, we can always console ourselves with a Tiramisù of POMPI pastry.

Believe me,POMPI is  an institution, not just for the Tiramisù …. try the Sacher cake!
Mini Cakes to carry with himself for a break so sweet!

And if you go to Piazza Navona …. pay attention to Epiphany Witches!
