Just a stone’s throw from the Trevi Fountain, the National Gallery of Ancient Art, in the Palazzo Barberini, restored last year, with its 34 rooms, is a beautiful setting for exhibitions and events.
Today I suggest you, a very interesting exhibition: Raffaello meets Raffaello.
Two famous works of Raffaello, Portrait of a Young Man (the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum) and La Fornarina, are compared.
Works apparently so different, they hid a common thread: the gaze.
